First, I wonder if Iran ever recovered from the 1950’s, when America helped depose Iran's democratically elected leader? For what reason? I suspect the usual; was to install a government puppet to America. Back in the 1950’s Iran was healthy (girls could wear skirts showing their knees for example). I brought up the 1950’s as a possible answer to why their current leadership is so horrible.

It is definitely violating the constitution for Trump to start a war w/o congress, similar as other presidents have done. But none of the other presidents can screw everything up as bad as Trump. Unless both parties want war (which was the case in Iraq), the constitutional purists come out of the woodwork and permeate the media-sphere.

From what I hear the Ayatollah was a monster. Almost certainly he has a strong religious cult following, and with the ac of killing their religious leader TRUMP just created the next generation or two of suicide bombers.

And I can’t imagine Iran letting this go. Throwing a rock and hitting a hornets nest is my interpretation too.

Is it possible Trump wants a major war for the upcoming election? Or does he think this will make the Epstein files go away? With his malignant narcissism showing its true colors, he doesn’t care how many people die..

Yes, they did not want someone who thought that the Iranians had some sort of claim on the oil that the US and the Brits were extracting from the country. They installed the shah as maximum ruler, and his son set SAVAK against anyone who dissented from his rule. He was as brutal as the ayatollahs have been. And he was a puppet.

But this isn't Trump's war, it's Bibi's and he's called on his assistant. the House of Saud is also happy to get rid of the pesky Shia apostate state, but prefers that the infidel do it. And they pay well.

Amb Huckabee no doubt foresees this cleansing of the Holy Land and assembly if the Jews as the precursor to their conversion and the end times.

Donald Trump said "He was one of the most evil men in history." No, he was not looking in a mirror; he meant the late Ayatollah Khamenei. For once I agree with him. I am glad the vile, murderous old goat is dead and his equally vile and murderous inner circle. Now we will probably get another vile, murderous old goat as Grand Ayatollah. When you throw a rock at a hornet's nest, it generally does not make the hornets more docile. Trump's rhetoric about the Iranian people rising up and taking over the government is a pure pipe dream fantasy. Who has the guns? The hardliners. Who just a few weeks ago shot down thousands of their fellow citizens? The hardliners. How do you get rid of the hardliners? Send in enough infantry, artillery, and tanks to defeat an army of a million fighting on their home turf. Is that the plan? Oh yeah. There is no plan. Trump pulled this out of his ass like everything he does.

David French and I wrote parallel essays at about the same time, but, obviously, without any cooperation during the composing.
